Creatively Untitled: A List Post Project

Do you know what D&D actually stands for?

That would be Dead and Devoid of all energy.

It's been taking up so much of my time and energy over these past two- wait, no three... yeah, three  months (we took that long for character creation, one-on-one starter sessions, and me personally working on the campaign setting) that I really haven't been focusing on much else. But we finally, FINALLY have started and from how well things are going, I think I'll be able to take a breather and  actually work on other things alongside this.

So, to get y'all caught up....

LIST POST TIME

*confetti cannons here*

1. First, let's talk about my knitting.

My intention was to have this finished in time to wear to the Destination Yarn open house later this month. Especially because this shawl would feature two different DY colors.

But after doing the math and having a heart-to-heart with myself... well, for the first time ever, I'm not going to finish a shawl in time to meet my deadline.

I'm surprisingly okay with it. It had to happen at some point and I'd rather it be something that was more of a "this would be nice" thing than a "OH MY GOD THIS RUINS EVERYTHING" sort of deal.

2. I ended up making another moth.

She's quite a bit bigger than my first one. And yes, she does look a little like the Centipeedle in Steven Universe. It was unintentional at first, but as I went along, she kind of grew into it.

I adore her and she now lives on my lovely new shelf along with my other plushies.

3. I made a mini dice bag for my miniature dice that I use for my crow companion for my character.

Yes, I know that the yarn obscures the cables, but I REALLY wanted to use only scraps for this. It's made mostly with the teeny little bit of yarn I had leftover from Polar Bear in a Snowstorm.

4. We ended up taking both Bethany and Vi with us to Origins last month and it was so much more fun like that. I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

5. I'm SUPER friggin proud of this crow painting I did for Lily.

6.  John and I actually did something crafty TOGETHER!

These are traveler's journals we made. And I do mean "we." He did almost all the work on his own! My little crafty goddess heart nearly burst with joy.

7. I've been meeting real life mothy friends and I couldn't be happier.

8. We've been playing Pokemon Go again. Vi and I have been painting the town yellow.

9. It's actually been a few days since I've started writing this and I'm now on the 5th color of my Fade shawl.

10. I may or may not be planning out the yarn for like a dozen more of these.

11. Yes, that's highly unusual.

12. No, I DON'T know what the hell is wrong with me.

13. And I TOTALLY didn't go off my cold sheep personal pledge and buy another skein of Rios just because the colors were singing to me.

14. NOPE NOPE NOPE TOTALLY DIDN'T

15.

16. ..............................

17. Damnit...

Much Ado About Nothing

Since I really have just been doing a mishmash of things waiting for the Lunar Phase MKAL to start, I figured a list post will get y'all up to speed about my current crafty happenings.

1. My goal was to finish Mystic Star before the end of the month.

2. There's no way that's actually happening. Because I thought I was going to run out of yarn, so I bought more. Annnnnd now I have enough to Ashtan it.

3. Doing said Ashtaning required designing an extra chart, which is Ashtaning it so hard that I think I've reached a new plane of existence.

4. I also got the yarn to do my ceremony shawl. Went with Knit Pick's Gloss Fingering in Jade.

5. I'm still waffling on patterns, but I think I may have narrowed it down to the final few.

4. Those will probably change again in a month.

6. I actually did a bit of non-knitting crafting and rebound this copy of Peter Pan for Bethany.

7. No, I didn't realize that John was creeping in the background.

8. I ALSO did some cross stitching.

9. Yes, I designed the pattern myself.

10. This surprises none of you.

11. John got crafty himself and made me a Mustard the Wonder Llama.

12. I've been indulging in coffee nearly every day since I caught a bloody cold.

13. Drinking said coffee out of the body of an Elder God is probably the reason why I felt better so fast.

14. I CAN FINALLY PLAY SUBNAUTICA AND THIS IS MY CUDDLEFISH AND HE'S THE GREATEST THING EVER.

15. I started a Flower Market shawl, but was bored quickly with it. It's currently in time out.

16. I freaked out about not having anything done for show and tell at the next pj party, so I knit this in less than 12 hours.

17. Said hat is the greatest thing ever and I am amazed at how friggin cute I feel while wearing it.

18. The Hat Feels led to an overindulgent amount of selfies.

19. Turns out that there was no need to freak out about not having anything for the pj party because Steph and Mikayla won't be going, so I'm skipping, too.

20. I finally picked the last yarn for the Lunar Phase MKAL just a few before the first clue was released.

21. I did the Ashtan thing and added beads to the pattern.

22. That's probably the only photo you'll see until the end of the MKAL because SPOILERS, SWEETIE!

23. That's actually my second start of the pattern. I had to drop down a needle size because I knit so danged loose.

24. And because I have no self control, I knit 130 rows in 2 days.

25. Yes, that was a stupid decision.

26. No, I can't feel my hands and that's why I'm writing this instead of knitting more.

27. This is a ridiculously long post and I should probably end it here.

28. Well, okay, I'll at least leave you with some Internet Tax.

29. Confession: I mostly stuck that there because it cracks John up every time he sees it.

30. Okay, goodbye for realsies this time. I'll try to find some more creative stuff to do to keep you from languishing with no content while I finish Lunar Phase. Assuming that my hands will remember how to work again.

Slice of Life, Slice of Pie

Listing, listing, listing all the day!

1. I had to set aside the mindless knitting because it was just too dang boring.

2. So I made a hat for myself instead. Much pie was had.

3. The aforementioned pie would be a big ol' helping of the humble variety for this rather cocky knitter. For the first time in years, I actually had laddering issues.

4. Much embarrassment was had by me.

5. I fixed the problem and happily shoved it on my head where it's pretty much remained.

6. Yes, my necklace is an octopus. Yes, I made it myself.

And yes, I'd be willing to make a couple at some point to sell.

7. Continuing with the octopus theme, I made myself a new ring.

8. I've also made two new Henry pieces.

9. The one Christmas present I knit this year was a cabled dice bag for John.

My own pattern, of course. I'm not sure if I'll release it or not since it involved crocheting a bottom.

10. I've been diving back into the journal making territory for a Particular Purpose.

11. No, I'm not telling you yet.

12. Sometimes I make something really adorable and small from scraps.

13. And then I make something smaller than that.

14. I've really missed getting to stretch my creative muscles and work on something other than big knitting projects.

15. Of course I have a new big project on my needles.

Lace weight circular shawl pattern using worsted weight yarn.

16. Yes, it's going to be a blanket. The thing I swore I'd never make.

17. Malabrigo Rios in Liquidambar, in case you're wondering.

18. Yeah, the yarn looks familiar.

19. No, this was not the intended project. But I have no regrets.

20. Damn, this blog really has just been about the shawls for the last few months.

21. No cat pics this time, but have some food porn to close us out.

22. Yes, that's homemade mac and cheese with sauteed broccoli in a breadbowl.

23. Yes, I know you're jealous.

24. No, I'm not sharing.
